Official Pride Flag Raisings 2025
We raise it, to raise visibility!
Message from the York Pride
Raising the Pride flag exceeds symbolism; it embodies solidarity, inclusion, and respect for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. York Pride remains steadfast in prioritizing our community's visibility. Seeing the flag flying provides a profound sense of support for residents and visitors alike, reaffirming that amidst discrimination, allies stand united. Municipal flag-raising signals a commitment to fostering a safer, more vibrant community where all are valued.
Let's fly the flag and build pillars of support in our community!

It’s simple, hate exists!
Since 2001, York Pride has advocated for the pride flag to fly above civic centers, parks, and intersections, fostering support, dialogue, and challenging stereotypes about the 2SLGBTQ+ community. With hate-motivated incidents in Canada rising 64% in the past three years (Statistics Canada, 2021), prioritizing education and community engagement is crucial for fostering a safer environment for all.
